Hi all !
At some point Luxrender will include blender hair support, since my pathtracer is build on top of Blender it has native support for blender hairs so I wanted to take a sneak peak of reference GI hairs ![]()

When I first started the volumetric project I was dreaming with the day when I stop coding (temporaly
and start gathering stats for my thesis document and collecting accumulated resources trough the development project. That was back in that April, now that that time has come
because I have being proposed as a Gold Title (the highest graduation score in cuban universities ), and Gold titles discuss thesis one month earlier than others, that means middle may, I don´t feel so happy.
Don´t get me wrong, Is just that I´m the kind of guy that enjoy the journey and not the destination and as soon as I start to see the other edge of the river I feel a little empty and begins to seek others rivers to cross.
During this month I will be of very little activity, I have to write down my thesis document and perhaps bother some of you with request for help on that
, many things could happen here but there´s high probabilities that after my graduation in the job states assign me I could continue developing for Blender if I have a minimum internet access, so you won´t get rid so easy of me
In fact I´m very late to start writting the thesis document, my classmates have already done several chapters of their thesis, but my passion for coding and not being distracted for “external” things is the responsible for that
Resuming: From now to may-june I will make a coding pause (though you know me, there´s no way I do a 100% pause
to focus in my graduation.

In order to extend Texture Nodes flexibility to handle voxeldata volumetrics (and in turn the rest of the textures it support
I have make a little patch ( http://www.pasteall.org/5165 ) that include for every texture the vector input like in the shader nodes. Is by no means a redundant feature, in creating new textures is always important to could mix them with different space transformation like only another texture could provide, and in the case of voxeldata textures is very important because that way now some simulation dataset could be used to advect and transform procedural textures that otherwise looks static and that is not the only use case of the vector input
hope you like it

Hi all
In past weeks as another big support I have received a second graphic card from Randall Rickert, another monster card: a Radeon 4870 X2 , WOW!!!
the NVIDIA 9800 GTX+ the Duruz and the community have gave me and the Radeon will allow me to thinker with CUDA and ATI stream in the near future and for very long time I will not have to worry about video cards
needless to say how happy I´m for that

Hi
Looking for one thing you find another one completely different, and in this case an amazing one!
The simulator I have currently implemented is not for the masses, what I mean is that is not so friendly and is more aimed to programmers and researchers in the fluid field, because as much as I tried to make it simple, is just impossible to learn to adjust its code without knowing fuild dynamics and programming at the same time.
But don´t worry, at some point in the future me or someone else will integrate this feature in Blender (or a simmilar one ), currently is just a framework to test the power of the volume renderer.
But in this framework I have taken some new approaches that I haven´t found on related papers, and being not constrained for 100% stable fluids I could obtain very interesting results of unstable fluids like this volcano-like pyroclastic cloud obtained without vorticity confinement, external field or any special set up, just the inner fluid unstability with unstability control, a feature that I have implemented in my fluid simulator
Another isteresting thing is that this cloud barely required composition and is “just” a 128x128x128 resolution
hope you enjoy it

Hi all!
In past weeks I was invited one more time to the UCI college where I met again with those young enthusiasts that are getting better and better every time (with every visit I have less and less to share with them and more and more to learn
I was there to share my blender resources since many of you know how difficult is to gather that, but luckily we are now getting a good resource library of blender stuffs, and since the UCI college is the computer science capital in Cuba this is always a good future investment for the blender community
PS: we have our own winter-camp-like picture
Cheers to all
