The roof on time

Hi guys 🙂

last Sunday we finished building the roof!!!!!!!! It was a very hard task because we have less than a day to finish it (otherwise we get leaks during rains). We started around 9:00 AM and ended up around 6:00 PM. We are very happy because the hardest part in the rebuilding of my house is over!! The rest of the things like floor, water pipes, doors, windows, linux 😛
could come later because they don’t need to be installed all at once. Shortly after finish it a small hurricane visited us but ended up as a tropical storm and do more good than harm 😉

Thanks to everyone that one way or another has made this possible!

Cheers Farsthary

Awesome. I’m sure everyone would agree that we like our Blender contributors to have a roof over their houses! For anyone who doesn’t know the start of this story, Farsthary and Broken were busy adding volumetrics to Blender (which is in trunk now!) when a hurricane came along and made Farsthary’s house a bit more “volumetric”… by removing the roof!

He’s been contributing to Blender continually, working on Unlimited Clay, SPH (super fast, particle based fluids) and a range of other goodies… all without a roof on his house! No, his family aren’t sleeping under the stars, but seriously, how many other people would still be taking time to contribute to Blender while your house was still in a state where you could get a tan anywhere in the building? I’m not sure *I* would be that generous with my time!

    Legendary.

It is so good to hear that you have been able to get this done finally. It is a lot of really hard work I do appreciate, as I have just spent last Sunday finally fixing some major probs around myhouse, but as blendiac said and quite beautifully, the fact that you continued to contribute even though you had these inconveniences is nothing more than an astounding proof to the truly generous and endearing person you are.

I hope that the family are all well. Take care buddy.

i’m not an ‘ official ‘ blender user , but after reading about Farsthary’s personal story and its contribute to Blender at the same time , i donated something symbolic . i should say also , that seeing that everyone’s contribute has a positive impact in Farsthary’s life ; gives me a bit of a special joy . well done everyone !
