I just returned from a short physics event in Havana where I spoke about the SPH fluids in Blender ๐Ÿ™‚ so I haven’t had connection to send my smooth update 3DC code to Andrew.

Now I’m back and ready again, the update is quite importent, it fully preserves the shape as it has zero shrinkage so now every vertice is correctly relaxed no matter the vertice valence.

    So this allow an even redistribution of vertices accros the surface right ? Does this means with that integrated into 3dcoat we could switch between surface and voxel mode without losing hard edges quality for instance (one of the biggest drawback of creasing/pinching in surface mode> voxel and so forth.) ?

      Yes, it allows even distribution across the surface but switching to voxel mode will return to the ill surface because in voxel mode the surface is automatically generated based on Marching cubes and there’s very little you can do to avoid that, only returning to surface mode you can clean the surface ๐Ÿ™‚

    i read on the developer IRC minutes that you may release uc patch in a week.

      well, may be not as fast as in a week but definatelly very soon the UC patch, the surface generation is in an advanced state but it has some serious performance issues rigth now, I will need to find out time to do it ๐Ÿ˜›

    whats better writing a blog post or a little more coding time and sleep.
